Etude House Dear My Jelly Lips Talk JPK001 (Baby Pink) Review

Today's review is on Etude House's Dear My Jelly Lips Talk Baby Pink colour, or also known as colour JPK001 :) I believe it's from the Sweet Recipe collection.

When I first looked at this lipstick I was actually really dissappointed, it was much paler than I expected it looked like it was going to just put a light gloss onto my lips.

As always Etude House's packaging is super cute! How adorable is the box? "Recipe for Jelly Lips" if that's not adorable then I don't know what is! I love how the diamantes on the tube match the colour of the lipstick. However, while the tube is cute it actually crosses the line a wee bit over to childish. The fact that the tube is made of cheap plastic makes it look kind of like a child's toy lipstick that came free with a barbie doll or polly pocket. Hmm... I can't decide if it's really sweet or immature.

The Results:
Top: Bare Lips
Bottom: Wearing Etude House Dear My Jelly Lips Talk JPK001 (Baby Pink)

Swatch on my arm, 3 coats.
Oh wow! I did not excpect the lipstick to turn a much darker pink when applied onto the lips! The lipstick also feels really nice. It dries up so you don't feel creaminess all over your lips and when you have a drink it doesn't stain your glass.

The application is really easy it just glides onto your lips. After application it tints darker and dries.

I really really love this lipstick and now I want to try more of the Jelly Lips range :D

Final Verdict:

- I LOVE this lipstick, it's probably my favourite now

- Easy application

- Dries evenly

- Cute packaging but quite childish and cheap looking

- Beautiful dark pink colour

Have a good weekend!

My Top 5 Must Have Winter Products

Coming up to July we'll be in the second month of Winter and already there's been a little bit of snow. So with cold weather all around it's time to pull out the essential products for winter. Even if it's not winter where you are yet then you can hopefully still enjoy this in preparation for when it is! :) So here are my Top 5 (in no particular order) must haves for winter:

1. EOS Lip Balm Smooth Sphere - Sweet Mint

If you're like me, winter brings along chapped lips :( although there are many great lip balms out there (honorable mention to Baby Lips!) I consider the EOS sphere's to be the best for giving back moisture to your lips.

Why? The sphere application makes it easy to smother all over your lips to give full moisture. The lip balm isn't sticky so your hair won't get caught in it and it's pretty cute packaging with y'know being round and all. There are lots of flavors but for winter I consider Sweet Mint to be the best because it's not a floral scent and feels fresh when you're out in the cold.

2. The Body Shop Chocomania Shower Cream

In the winter I prefer using shower creams - shower gels are always floral and refreshing which suits summer more. So my number one choice for shower creams is Chocomania from the body shop.

Why? On a cold winter's night it's so inviting to sit down and snack on some delicious milk chocolate while sipping on a warm hot chocolate. Of course this would be unhealthy to indulge in every night, so wash yourself with the delicious scent and smoothness of chocolate instead!

3. Maybelline Hyper Diamonds Eye Shadow - Charcoal Diamonds

Winter is the perfect time to rock your smoky-eyed look and this winter my personal favorite eyeshadow palette is Maybelline's Charcoal Diamonds.

Why? The name "diamonds" is easily lived up to as Maybelline have provided 5 very beautiful sparkling charcoal colors. I love how the sponge applicator it comes with has a small thin side as well which makes application even easier. There's various shades of charcoal so the lighter colours can be used for a cold winters day and then the darker ones for a dark winter's night. Love!

4. Silver, Purple and Blue Glitter Nail Polishes

For this must-have I don't actually have a specific polish because there are so many great ones out there that you can use. Yes, glitter nail polish is possibly the most awful thing to remove out of all beauty products but it is definitely worth it for your winter look.

Why? It will add a bit of glittery glamour to your hands without looking tacky and give an extra sparkle to your outfit. Personally I like blues, purples and silvers for glittery winter nails but any darker glitter colors like a green would look great too.

My Favourite Winter Glitter Polishes L-R: OPI - Shimmer and Simmer, Etude House - Dear My Party Nails Halloween Day, OPI - Crown Me Already, China Glaze - Skyscraper, OPI - Absolutely Alice

5. The Body Shop - Wild Rose Hand Cream

Along with my chapped lips in winter I also get super dry hands. It feels horrible but luckily there's a quick fix, The Body Shop's Wild Rose Hand Cream.

Why? There's so many hand creams which work well but the best thing about this hand cream is it's really compact so you can keep it in your handbag. Someone gave me one of these as a gift so I ended up with two so I have one which I keep in my handbag and one I keep at home. It smells delicious and also has SPF in it which isn't really necessary in winter but a good addition all the same.

BONUS. Fudge Paint Box Hair Colour

"Fun" colors in hair is really popular this year so I thought I'd add Fudge's Paint Box hair products to the list as a bonus. Obviously this isn't a "must have" but it's still a really cool product and I think these colors are great for winter if you're wanting to colour your hair with some alternative colors.

Why? The application of these is probably the simplest dying of hair possible. All you need is some tinfoil which you place under the hair you want to colour, then you squeeze some colour out of the tube, rub it on your hair with gloves, wrap it up in the tinfoil and voila, 15 minutes later you'll have pretty colored hair :) The colours I've picked for winter are Blueberry Hill and Blue Velvet. These are both fun colours that are a bit darker so they are perfect for winter.

So there is it! My Top 5 Must Haves for winter :) I hope you like them!!

Etude House Products - Mini Haul!!

Last Week I ordered some Etude House products off http://www.momokorea.com/ and hooray they arrived yesterday :D I have yet to try them but I'm very excited :) International shipping cost me $20USD which was extremely pricey but it seems reasonable for international shipping so I can't complain there! I think next time I go over to Asia I'll definitely be ordering more because shipping is free to there yay!

I love ordering things online because it's so exciting when the package arrives on your doorstep :D

All the goodies inside carefully covered in bubble wrap :)
So as you can imagine it was all very exciting getting the package and opening it! Everything was carefully bubble wrapped and it was honestly like Christmas had come early when I was unwrapping everything!

The goods!

I won't show you each item in detail since I'm planning to do reviews on them all at some point, but here's everything I got in anti-clockwise order:
(Note: All prices in USD)

- Dear My Party Nails: Prom Queen $2.53
- Dear My Party Nails: Halloween Day $2.53
- Juicy Cocktail Graduation Nails: Princess Mary $5.05
- Lash Perm: 3 Step Volumecara $10.95
- Surprise Essence Concealer: Light Beige $4.21
- Secret Beam Highlighter: Pink & White Mix $7.58
- Dear My Jelly Lips Talk: Baby Pink (JPK001) $7.16

So as you can see all the items were really cheap and affordable! Definitely worth the expensive international shipping - especially if you live in Asia where it's free. :) The products came in about a week and there was a surprise along with them - free samples. Yay!

Free samples - whoo!
I will definitely order off this website again as it was reliable, fast and cheap :) Now I can't wait to try all the products!!

Have a good day everyone :)

E-Heart False Eyelashes - Type 002 Mermaid Eye (伊心x飛小橘假睫毛 002 美人魚) Review

Time for a review on E-Heart false eyelashes! These come from Taiwan and while I believe you can buy them online I think the only place you can actually physically go into a shop and buy them is Taiwan. So when either my boyfriend goes back there (or if I go with him) I stock up on them! So today I'll review the Type 002 - Mermaid Eye. This was my first time trying the Mermaid Eye :)

I love the packaging with E-Heart a lot. It's pretty and the best part is that it's really easy to store because it's so thin. The value of E-Heart lashes is absolutely great, you get 5 pairs of lashes for 279TWD (about $9USD) Most of the brands over here are that price just for one pair! As you can see the 5 pairs of lashes aren't all exactly the same though, they increase in volume, so there's the option of less-voluptuous lashes if it's for a more casual look.

The band on the lashes is really thick and I much prefer using thick bands - they are so much easier to apply. I kind of struggle even to put on lashes with thin bands. Note: there is some glue on the picture below! I took this after removing the lashes :) but you get the general idea of how thick the band is.

The Results:

Wearing E-Heart Type 002 Mermaid Eye

Looking the mirror, I thought these eyelashes looked really pretty from far-ish away, but up close they were a bit.. fake. Like you can see in the picture from looking down that they look a bit plastic and fake. I thought maybe it was just the lighting in the photo so I took some later:

So yes, they do look a little better and less fake in artificial light. But in natural light they are quite fake and obvious. I asked my boyfriend if he had noticed I was wearing falsies and he said he hadn't (usually he does notice with other types..) but another girl would probably notice straight away. I think the main cause of this is just the cheapness and quality of the lashes.

However, these lashes have a plus side too! They really do make my eyes look bigger and open them up. They are also super pretty too :) The shape of them is also quite a natural shape, they're certainly not natural looking lashes, but the shape isn't too out there.

The application is also super easy! Yay! I know most women keep away from falsies just because of the application scares them but these are really, really simple. They are probably the easiest lashes I've ever put on. Yay for a thick band!!

Overall, I think there are better types of lashes in the E-Heart series which I would buy over these, but I am happy with these nonetheless :)

Final Verdict:

- Quite fake looking especially when you look down

- Really easy application

- Pretty look which opens your eyes up

- Nice shape

Thanks for reading! Have a great weekend everyone :)

~MASCARA MONDAY~ Maybelline - Volum' Express The Turbo Review

Yay! My second Mascara Monday!! So this Mascara Monday is from Maybelline's Volum' Express Series; The Turbo :) I purchased this last week because it was 50% off :D Bargain!

First off, the packaging. The packaging of this mascara is really appealing to the eyes with the metallically red for the words and top of the tube. However, because it's mostly black I wouldn't say it blew me away or anything and it certainly doesn't stand out when in a pile with all my other mascaras.

The Mascara promises 5x Volume. I got the waterproof version which is only 5x but I believe the washable version promises to give 7x volume. The brush has the classic style bristles which is great and its easy to move around the eyelashes.

Results:

No Mascara or Curl
Curled Lashes, No Mascara
Wearing Maybelline's Volum' Express The Turbo Mascara on Top Lashes and Bottom Lashes

Wow! Look how my eyelashes are actually touching the top of my eyes! I didn't know this mascara would also provide massive length which is such an awesome bonus. The volume provided is pretty great too. I wouldn't say it's 5x the volume but it's still a good amount of volume.

I can certainly tell that there is heaps of volume added to my bottom lashes too.

New Favourite Mascara?? I think so!!!

Final Verdict:

- Great Volume

- Awesome length!

- Easy to apply

Have a good monday everyone! :)

The Face Shop - Face It Power Perfection BB Cream (페이스잇파워퍼펙션비비) Review

Today I'm going to share with you one of my favorite BB Creams that I adore :) Hopefully my review does it justice so you all love it too!

I bought The Face Shop's Power Perfection BB Cream while I was in Korea in July last year. I can't remember exactly how much it costed but I think it was around 20,000 (about $18USD) which is really reasonable and for the product quality seems cheap! So I bought two packets :) I was on my last packet in January :( So when I went to Thailand in January I bought another packet. The price in Thailand? About 1,800 Baht! (about $60USD) Absolutely ridiculous. But that's how much this BB Cream is essential to me lol.

So on to the review...

The Packaging is really appealing to me as I love purple :) It looks really sophisticated and pretty. The cream smells really fragrant and lovely. Another great thing about BB cream is the fact it has SPF in it too! This one is SPF 37.

There are two colors to choose from, Light Beige and Natural Beige. The Shop Assistant in Korea told me that since I have caucasian skin rather than asian skin that I should choose light beige so that's the one I've got :)

The Results:
(No flash has been used!)

No Make-Up on Right Cheek

Wearing Face It Power Perfection BB Cream #01 Natural Beige on Right Cheek

No Make-Up on Left Cheek (my skin is more blotchy on my left cheek)
Wearing Face It Power Perfection BB Cream #01 Natural Beige on Left Cheek
As you can see the coverage of this is great and it covers really evenly. It is also really easy to apply and doesn't take to much time. I used a sponge to apply the make-up but I have used my hands and a brush in the past and it applies just as easily no matter what tool you use! :)

This BB cream gives a really healthy look to my skin. It manages to cover most of my blemishes without being too thick and cakey which is perfect for a natural, healthy, daily look.

After a year of wearing this BB Cream it has never once caused me to break out!

The only issue I have with this make up is it only last for around 4 hours. It lasts longer with a powder over top but a powder kind of ruins the glossy look it gives.

Final Verdict:

- Gives your skin a healthy look

- Coverage is perfect

- Easy to apply

- Doesn't last that long :(

- If you love BB Creams and you haven't tried this... you need to! I'd love to know your thoughts :)

Thanks for reading!!

Etude House Nail Polish - Pajama Party (파자마파티) Review

Last year while I was in South Korea I enjoyed myself immensely shopping through all the pretty beauty shops and as a result I bought home gorgeous cosmetics. So today I thought I'd pull out one of the polishes I'd bought but hadn't tried yet and give it a review. I bought this polish at one of my favorite Korean cosmetic stores, Etude House and it's from the Dear My Party Nails collection. This specific polish is named Pajama Party :)

I absolutely adore the name of this polish, Pajama Party. It's such a cute name and definitely suits the colour - I can totally imagine myself wearing pajamas with this pattern to a sleepover.

As you can see below the cost of Pajama Party was super affordable too, 3000! (Which is about $2.50USD) How great is that? In my country a polish of this quality would be at least $20 (about $15USD)

I love the packaging of this polish. The classic Etude House style lid (that looks to me like a flower) and the fact it is pink is very cute.

Results:

One Coat of Pajama Party
Two Coats of Pajama Party
Three Coats of Pajama Party plus Top Coat

For some reason I expected the formula to be difficult to work with but boy was I wrong. Pajama Party applied like a dream which completely surprised me since usually polishes with sparkles, glitter, flakes etc. inside them are often gloopy and a big mess to work with. This polish was nothing like this! Yay! The only thing you have to watch when applying this is to sweep the brush around to get all the sparkly, flaky bits around the nail evenly.

After the first coat I was a bit worried that the polish might require a high amount of coats to not be opaque anymore but after the second coat I realized it actually wasn't going to be an issue. 3 coats got it to a perfect look. Although there was still visible nail line I felt like it didn't need anymore than 3 coats since it was a colour that suited having the nail line showing. After I applied a top coat I was really pleased with what the finished product looked like.

Strangely, in the bottle the polish looks green yet on the nails it comes out a dark milky colour. I actually really liked how it came out a dark milky colour because it gives a more clean look and the dark milkiness makes it suitable for winter. I feel like if the polish had actually come out green it might have looked slightly childish but the milky colour gives it a more sophisticated edge along with the fun aspect from the sparkles and flakes.

Like all glitter nail polishes, Pajama Party was on the more difficult side to remove, however since there isn't that much flakes in the polish it was nothing too painful to remove and I would say it took me about 30 seconds of intense rubbing to remove each nail which isn't too bad for a glitter polish. Usually I don't bother wearing glitters just because of the hassle of removal but since this one wasn't too bad I would easily wear it without worrying about removal.

PS - Sorry for the short length of my nails! I had to cut them about a week ago :(

Final Verdict:

-The packaging of this Nail Polish is super cute

-The application of the Polish is easy

-Affordable and great quality formula

-Gives your nails a clean look with a bit of flair

-It has now become one of my favorite polishes! I will definitely wear it again :)

Loving Pajama Party!

Note: Other products I used for this swatch were:

- Manicare Base Coat Plus Strengthener
- OPI Top Coat
- Health Basics Nourish Nail Polish Remover Acetone Formula
